Childcare Centre
 In a world where both parents go out to work and where grandparents are still active in their workplace, the council realized the need to set up a Childcare Centre. This centre began operating in July 2002. The San Lawrenz Local Council was the first council in Malta and Gozo to set up a Childcare Centre. A hall was attractively decorated with great emphasis given to safety. This service is greatly appreciated by parents who wish to leave their children in a suitable environment where they are not only taken care of but they can also learn. Two dedicated Assistants are responsible for the running of this centre.
The Childcare Centre is situated in the Community Centre in Our Lady of Sorrows Street, San Lawrenz. Opening hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 8.00am to 12.30pm for children aged between one and a half years and seven years against a fee of 35c per hour. This service is also extended to children from other villages.
