Waterculverts
The Council has always been conscious of the huge problems caused by flooding in Wileg Street. Hence the water culvert in the street was one of the first projects embarked upon by the Council. The results were excellent and the problem has now been solved once and for all.
The Council noticed that a similar problem occurred in Duluri Street. A water culvert was dug up there and it was extended to San Lawrenz Street. Another water culvert was dug up at Ciangura Street. At present this culvert is not being used, as the Council intends to connect it to the water reservoir already in place underneath the village square, which is due for embellishment by the Council in another project.
Another water culvert was dug up in Dun Salv Portelli Street. This culvert has been connected to the water reservoir under the local playing field and the water is being used by local farmers.
These projects have ensured that the problem of flooding was solved and the village is now completely free of any flooding problems.
