Library
The San Lawrenz Local Council has always been a prime promoter of reading in our locality and considered the devolution of the local library as very important. The Council moved the library to new premises in the school and refurbished them attractively. As a result, the number of children, parents and youths who use the library has doubled. The library was named after Nicholas Monsarrat, a famous English author who for the last 15 years of his life resided in San Lawrenz. A monument was also erected in his honour. The reason for dedicating the library to Nicholas Monsarrat is to give our residents a role model and also to instill in them a civic pride in the literary camp.
The library also consists of a reference room with a large number of reference books and also has a computer and software with information for the use of those who wish to do advanced research.
Reading Sessions
To encourage children to read more, reading sessions are held once a week during the summer holidays and also once a week during school days.
